Jesus on the Cross
Jesus was beaten by the soldiers. When Jesus was on the cross he was pierced in the side. The prophet Isaiah had predicted that this would happen when he wrote:
“But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
